The Basic Sciences & Humanities department was established in the year 2009. Basic sciences are fundamental to all engineering and technology. The need for studying basic sciences in the engineering courses explains the fact that students’ knowledge till the twelfth class is not adequate to prepare them for engineers. The humanities studies enables the students to appreciate the social, economic and managerial impact of the technology and consequently how to control that. It also develops students skills in leadership, communication, entrepreneurship etc. The subjects in Basic Sciences & Humanities include Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Mathematics, Management, Engineering Economics, Environmental Engineering, Communicative English and Business communication. The department also contributes a major role in administration, examination and sports & culture in the institute. It organizes regularly faculty development programs, seminars, workshops, conferences on issues based on academics as well as wider human considerations.
